AUJOURD'HUI EST UN GRAND JOUR ! TODAY IS A GREAT DAY!
Here we are! GuppY can be installed on CDs or USB drives, then it's simply launched with a Windows application.
It can be downloaded on the freeGuppY website: MiniGuppy
From a technical point of view, MiniGuppY is a ready to use package consisting both in a light web server, ZazouMiniWebServer 1.2.4, in PHP 5.2.3 and in GuppY 4.6.2.
More mundanely, miniGuppY is: GuppY for dummies? Not wrong...launch setup, the double-click on the miniGuppY icon, and there you are, on your website. Then, do the running in job! A nomad GuppY ? That's the thing! No entry in the register, set up on USB keys as well as on hard drive or CD.
What's more, the great asset of this small tool is to be very light and easy to use. It suffices to set up your own GuppY into the www folder: And the let's go, Jim!!!
To make sure our Linux friends are not forgottent (I know there are more and more of them), miniGuppY also runs on WINE. (I've managed easily anyway).
In short, miniGuppY replaces easyGuppY, for it allows running GuppY locally. Moreover, it does not need any set up. It leaves no trace in the register. It's the right thing for a nomad use on a USB stick.
